  • The popular Jermaine Seoposenwe has been fending off online marriage proposals
  • A social media fan described her rebuff as sending her suitor to the 'family zone'

In the month of love, Jermiane Seoponsenwe, is raking in the not-so-secret admirers.

The Liga MX Femenil star was subject to a cheeky request on X, which the 30-year-old casually took in her charming stride.

She has not publicly disclosed her relationship status, but that has not deterred would-be suitors from declaring their love for the Cape Town-born beauty.

Said in a different tone or on a different platform, the gesture may have warranted the scrutiny of the law. An Arsenal fan calling himself RayDOnovan, directed a tweet at 'Jay' that read:

"I will look for you. I will find you. And I will marry you."

Replying to the smooth operator, Seoposenwe responded:

"I’m in Mexico my brother. It’s where I’ve been for months now."

The Banyana Banyana star's fans were quick to chime in, most to acknowledge the deft touch of her wording. Kgosi Serekulu posted:

“My brother” is zoned just like that…"

Bhekisisa added:

"Did you familyzone him?"

Malume observed:

"That “my brother” says he should not bother."

Hlabane Tebatso Matt surmised:

"I just knew the guy’s chances were slim when you called him “My brother"

MamaJoy Chauke even got in on the act, posting 'Makotiiii', which is Zulu for 'bride'. Seoposenwe appeared to laugh that off, replying:

"Yoh Mama Joy I’m not ready for a Papa Joy yet."

She was asked multiple times to confirm her relationship status but brushed off the inquiries with, 'One day you will find out, for now it’s a mystery'.

'Jay' joined Monterrey in 2023 and has had a successful time in Mexico, scoring seven goals in 19 appearances so far, propelling Monterrey to third on the log, as per Liga MX Femenil.

Five assists from Seoposenwe

Sports Brief previously reported on Jermaine Seoposenwe conjuring five assists in a league match.

She provided five assists, won a penalty and scored a goal for good measure in Braga's landslide 9-0.

She downplayed the feat, posting online that she would let her career numbers do the talking for her.
