FootballVictor Osimhen: Serie A Legend Urges Juventus to Sign Nigerian Forward Amid PSG Links
- Victor Osimhen is one of world football's most sought-after forward
- The Napoli star is tipped to replace Kylian Mbappe at Paris Saint-Germain
- An Italian Serie A legend has urged Juventus to get a deal done for the Nigerian
The future of Kylian Mbappe is causing a ripple effect across European football, with Paris Saint-Germain on the prowl for a talisman, after reports of the forward communicating his desire to leave the Ligue 1 club in the summer.
A long list of potential replacements have been drawn up, including AC Milan’s Rafael Leao, RB Liepzig’s Xavi Simons and Napoli’s marquee forward, Victor Osimhen, as potential replacements to cover for the departing Mbappe.
However, it has to be noted that the acquisition of Osimhen, in particular, seems to be gaining momentum, as Napoli's president, Aurelio De Laurentis, has indicated a willingness to sell the Nigerian, albeit for the right price.

Serie A icon on Juventus singing Osimhen
In a recent discussion with British sports streaming platform DAZN, as reported by Complete Sports, former Juventus forward, Alessandro Matri, emphasised the importance of Juventus pursuing Victor Osimhen, even if it entails parting ways with current striker Dusan Vlahovic.
Matri shared his perspective, saying, "I wouldn't dismiss the possibility of Osimhen joining Juventus. If Vlahovic finishes the season strong, he could be sold for €70 million, and Matias Soule could also generate a significant profit."
Supporting his argument, Matri pointed to Juventus' past acquisition of Gonzalo Higuain, highlighting that such a purchase would not be financially burdensome. He noted,
"The acquisition wouldn't strain our finances. Juventus successfully managed a similar move with Gonzalo Higuain in the past. With savings from this season and potential Champions League qualification, they'll have additional funds to allocate."
Cape Verde vs South Africa: Nigeria's assistant coach gives verdict on which team he prefers
FootballThe call for Juventus to secure Osimhen's services arises from the team's current struggles in front of goal, a stark contrast to their dominant era when they consistently clinched the Scudetto. Juventus have scored only 36 goals in their first 24 league games, while league leaders Inter Milan have netted 57 goals in the same number of matches.
Osimhen agent blast Kvaratskhelia
Sports Brief in another report stated that the agent of Super Eagles forward, Osimhen, has slammed Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s representative, after the latter reported on the Nigerian preparing to move to the Saudi Pro League.
The words of Mamuka Jugeli appeared to anger the talismanic forward, and subsequently, his representative, Roberto Calenda, released a press statement to that effect.
