South African tactician, Pitso Mosimane, has signed a new striker for his new team, Abha Football Club, amid interest in Stellenbosch FC star Iqraam Rayners.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns manager is preparing for the resumption of the Saudi Pro League, with his first official match in charge of the club being against Al-Taawoun.

The 59-year-old signed a four-month deal with the Saudi Arabian side recently and is tasked with taking the Zaeem Al-Janoub out of relegation this season.

Abha Club are 17th on the Saudi Pro League table and lost their striker Karl Toko Ekambi to rivals Al-Ettifaq in the January transfer window.

Mosimane have been in the market for a new striker since the departure of the Cameroon striker and was hoping to get Rayners from the Premier Soccer League.

With the move for Rayners failing to materialise, Mosimane has added an experienced striker, Luka Djordjevic, to his squad ahead of their clash with Al-Taawoun, according to iDiskiTimes.

Djordjevic joined Abha Club on a free transfer and signed a deal until the end of the season after leaving Russian side Sochi last month.

The Montenegrin striker has previously featured for top clubs like Zenit Saint Petersburg, Twente, Lokomotiv Moscow, and Sampdoria.

Mosimane reacts to Kekana's comment about Pinky

Sports Brief previously reported that Mosimane reacted to Grant Kekana's comments about his mother, Politician Pinky Kekana's, support during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

The Mamelodi Sundowns star was a constant member of the South African team at the recently concluded continental football competition, in which they finished third place behind Nigeria and Ivory Coast.

The former Al Ahly coach took to his official page on X to share his views on Grant's remarks about his mother.
