Kenya's emerging talent, Stanley Wilson, is set to undergo trials with Sweden's top-tier football club, AIK Fotboll.

The teenage central midfielder gained prominence in September 2023 when Harambee Stars' head coach, Engin Firat, took the daring step of including him in the national team.

This was despite his limited experience of just two games in the top-tier Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League.

AIK Sporting Director Thomas Berntsen stated on the club's website that the club had invited the 17-year-old to a trial game during the upcoming training camp in Marbella, Spain.

“Stanley Wilson is a talented central midfielder who works hard, and AIK Football's scouting team saw him in Kenya a couple of months ago. He will travel with the team to Marbella so we can see him up close in our business,” said Berntsen, as quoted on the club’s website.

Accompanied by Kenyan international Collins Sichenje, Wilson is part of the 26-man AIK squad currently in Marbella, Spain, aiming to make a lasting impression at the club.

The training camp will feature various sessions, including two scheduled practice matches against FK TSC Backa Topola (3/2) and Sarpsborg 08 FF (9/2) before the squad returns to Stockholm on Saturday, February 10.

Three other Kenyan players join FK Apolonia in Albania

In other transfer news, Kenyan footballer Lewis Shivachi has completed a transfer to FK Apolonia. As reported by Pulse Sports, the 22-year-old striker has reportedly secured a one-year deal.

Shivachi leaves Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League side Posta Rangers for Albanian First Division side.

Defender Kevin Taiwo (Kibera Black Stars) and midfielder Kevin Wanganya (Kariobangi Sharks) will also join Apolonia.

Formerly with Ligi Ndogo, Shivachi quickly made a mark in the Kenyan league. His noteworthy debut last season in a goalless draw against Sofapaka highlighted his potential, paving the way for his international move.

Timbe's new challenge with Sabail FK in Azerbaijan
