Ghanaian football fans have taken to social media to troll rivals, Nigeria, following their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations defeat to Ivory Coast.

The Super Eagles threw away a first-half lead to lose 2-1 to the host nation on Sunday at the Alassane Outtara Stadium in Ebimpe.

William Troost-Ekong, who was named the tournament's best player, opened the scoring before Franck Kessie levelled things after the break.

The Elephants' Sebastien Haller netted the winner late in the game.

Following Nigeria's defeat, social media has been set ablaze by fans of the two countries, with Ghanaians taking the trolling to the max.

Haller powers Ivory Coast to victory

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ivory Coast's Haller scored the winner as the hosts came from a goal down to beat Nigeria in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles took the lead before half-time through Troost-Ekong but Kessie levelled for the Elephants after the break before Haller finished off the game in style.
