Premier Soccer League side, Kaizer Chiefs have congratulated Bafana Bafana after knocking Morocco out of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in the Round of 16.

The South African national team are through to the quarter-finals after their 2-0 win over the Atlas Lions on Tuesday.

Orlando Pirates striker, Evidence Mokgopa scored South Africa's first goal before Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Teboho Mokoena added the second from a free kick in the closing stages.

Many teams and top personalities have celebrated South Africa's victory over Morocco, with the AmaKhosi also joining them despite not having a player in the Bafana Bafana squad at the competition.

Chiefs took to their official handle on X (formerly Twitter) to congratulate the national team after securing a place in the quarter-final.

"Congratulations @BafanaBafana, On to the next one ✌️," the club posted.

The AmaKhosi's congratulatory message to Bafana Bafana sparked reactions from their followers on X.

South Africa's quarter-final opponent in the competition are the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde, according to a report by Soccerway.

Broos explains how he outsmarted Morocco

Sports Brief also previously reported on Hugo Broos disclosing how he outsmarted Morocco to lead the national team to victory in the AFCON 2023 Round of 16.

The Atlas Lions were deemed to be favourites to win in one of the tournament's knockout ties but were surprised by two second-half goals from Bafana Bafana.
