Nimbus Prono had become popular among football fans after predicting some correct matches at the AFCON, notably Ghana’s 2-2 draw against Egypt in the group stages, YEN reports.

The Super Eagles set up a final clash with Ivory Coast after dispatching South Africa in the semi-finals via penalties. At the same time, the Elephants needed Sabastian Haller’s solo strike to send packing DR Congo in the second semi-final.

The Super Eagles, searching for their fourth AFCON title, will square up against the Elephants at the 60,000-capacity Alssanne Ouattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan, on Sunday.

Sacked CIV coach backs Nigeria

Meanwhile, Jean-Louis Gasset has claimed that Nigeria is the favourite to win when the Super Eagles face Ivory Coast in Sunday's Africa Cup of Nations final at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan, All Nigeria Soccer reports.

The 70-year-old French football tactician, who led the Elephants to the 2023 AFCON, was sacked by the Ivorian Federation after the group stages following their 4-0 thrashing by Equatorial Guinea.

Emerse Fae would take over the reins as Ivory Coast manager and has guided the struggling Elephants to the final of the AFCON after wins against Senegal, Mali, and DR Congo in the knockout phase.

Haller eyes AFCON success with Ivory Coast

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ivory Coast forward Sebastian Haller is keen to win the Africa Cup of Nations after guiding the Elephants to the final with the winning goal against DR Congo.

The Borussia Dortmund forward has been sidelined for much of the competition, making his first appearance as a substitute in the dramatic quarter-final victory against Mali.

With just one more match to go, Haller is already dreaming of winning the title as Ivory Coast gets ready to confront Nigeria in the final in front of 60,000 home supporters at the Alssanne Ouattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan, on Sunday.
