The Super Eagles players have vowed to win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations for the fans who tragically passed on while watching their semi-final clash against South Africa.
On Wednesday, former Nigerian lawmaker Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, Deputy Bursar at Kwara State University, Ayuba Abdullahi, Chief Executive Officer of Groupe Auto Promotion, Osondu Nwoye, and a National Youth Service Corp member identified as Samuel all passed on watching the game.
According to Complete Sports, Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa made this promise while the team observed a one-minute silence for the departed fans during the team’s meeting on Thursday.
“There is nothing we can do, the families of the deceased need our support right now and Insha Allah on Sunday we will lift the trophy for them.“

Meanwhile, Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has warned Ivory Coast to expect a difficult game against Nigeria in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday, Daily Post reports.
