  • Andre Onana made some interesting picks when asked to build his ultimate player
  • The Man United goalie snubbed Ronaldo’s right foot and selected another attribute
  • Onana is back with the squad after a dismal AFCON 2023 campaign with Cameroon

Manchester United goalkeeper, Andre Onana’s selections for his ultimate player contained some interesting selections.

To be fair, the Cameroon shot-stopper was tasked with randomly selecting the attributes he fancied solely from a pool of former Red Devils players.

In the video shared on Man United’s Tiktok account, Onana played the game using a 'Man United randomiser' - an app that selects players.

The participant in the 'game' then determines which attribute he prefers in said player.

Surprisingly, the 28-year-old picked Cristiano Ronaldo’s mentality over the Portuguese star’s right foot, finishing, and heading abilities.

To be fair to Onana, not many former Man United players had the sheer mental of CR7, who is still plying his trade at the ripe age of 39.

Onana’s builds his ultimate player

Onana selected the free kick maestro, David Beckham, for his right foot, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic was picked for his finishing.

Patrice Evra was selected for his left foot while heading went to Marouane Fellaini, who recently announced his retirement from the game.

In the skills department, Onana went for Ronaldo’s international counterpart, Nani.

Now at Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, the Portuguese veteran could have easily fit in several other categories, including in the heading, finishing, and right foot departments.

What is Ronaldo up to?

Ronaldo, who turned a year older on February 5, is still as hungry as ever on the football pitch. He recently returned from injury and featured for Al-Nassr in the Riyadh Season Cup match against Al-Hilal on Thursday, February 9.

As cited by Sports Illustrated, the superstar's first game of 2024 ended in defeat as his side lost 2-0 thanks to goals from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Salem Al-Dawsari.

Ronaldo could be back on the pitch again on February 14 when his team takes on Al Feiha in the AFC Champions League.

Ronaldo signals for ref to be sent off

In other news, Ronaldo cut a frustrated figure on Thursday after appearing to ask for the dismissal of the referee during the Riyadh Season Cup final against Al-Hilal.

As Sports Brief reported, the 39-year-old endured a difficult evening at the Kingdom Arena and appeared to still be off his game after weeks on the sidelines with injury.

His frustration seemed to be mostly directed at centre referee, Tori Penso, who booked Ronaldo before he made a gesture suggesting she should be sent off the field.
