Angry South African fans have called on Premier Soccer League teams to ensure Chippa United are relegated from the topflight by the end of this season.
Reactions have continued to trail the comments by the club's chairman, Siviwe Mpengesi, who threw his weight of support on Nigeria during the semi-final clash with South Africa at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
The Chilli Boys boss stirred controversy with a statement that many termed as unpatriotic.
Hours before the highly-anticipated encounter, Mpengesi released an official statement saying he would be rooting for the Super Eagles instead of Bafana Bafana, GOAL reports.

The club's chief said he would be supporting goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, who has brought attention to the club following his impressive performance at the tournament.
And in a dramatic fashion, Nigeria won the tie via a penalty shootout, with Nwabali winning the Man of the Match award.
Mpengesi's earlier remarks have sparked anger amongst South African fans, as many want Chippa United taken out. An angry supporter said:
"We have a mandate next month. Every team must make sure they suffer."
Another added:
"I'm done with them. We embark on project relegate Chippa United from now on."
One said:
"Any PSL team losing against Chippa United will make me so angry, we must work together to relegate that useless club."
