Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala took a subtle dig at Ghanaians following Nigeria's qualification to the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

The Super Eagles defeated South Africa on penalties to keep their dreams of winning a fourth AFCON title alive.

Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali was the hero of the night after saving two penalties as Nigeria won 4-2 to secure their place in Sunday's final.

After the match, Oshoala took to social media to react to the performance of the national team, posting a series of messages on her timeline.

However, one of those posts poked fun at Nigeria's main rivals, Ghana.

"Why do I feel this victory pain Ghana pass South Africa," she wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Ghana and Nigeria are known for their rivalry, which stems from their long-standing relationship along the west coast of Africa. The failure of the Black Stars to progress beyond the group stage has seen Ghanaians support teams that play against the Super Eagles.

Nigeria will face host nation Ivory Coast in the final on Sunday at the Alassane Outtara Stadium in Ebimpe, per Sky Sports.

Nigeria beat South Africa on penalties

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho scored the winner as Nigeria beat South Africa 4-2 on penalties in a thrilling Africa Cup of Nations semi-final clash in Bouake.

The match finished 1-1 after extra time and the three-time champions will face hosts Ivory Coast, who beat DR Congo 1-0, in the final on Sunday.

Both regular-time goals also came from penalties with captain William Troost-Ekong scoring after 67 minutes for Nigeria and Teboho Mokoena equalised from a 90th-minute spot-kick.

Oshoala mocks Ivory Coast after Equatorial Guinea defeat

Sports Brief also reported that Asisat Oshoala trolled Ivory Coast on the back of their shocking defeat against Equatorial Guinea.

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations hosts were poised to rewrite their narrow loss to Nigeria against the Nzalang Nacional. But what ensued after 90 minutes will be a moment they will want to forget quickly.

Equatorial Guinea put four goals past the Elephants in a shocking turn of events. The result was so embarrassing in nature that after the second and third goals, scores of Ivorian fans made their way out of the Stade Alassane Ouattara.
