Has Belle Silva’s comments landed her husband in hot water?

The wife of Chelsea defender, Thiago Silva, called for change in the side after the Blues' last defeat at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea were beaten 4-2 by Wolverhampton Wanderers in the English Premier League, leading many to call for Chelsea coach, Mauricio Pochettino, to be sacked.

The defeat marked the second game in a row that the London-based side conceded four goals.

Silva, who has spoken her mind in the past, took to social media to call for something to be done.

Thiago Silva dropped for FA Cup fixture

Chelsea did implement change for their next fixture, as Pochettino opted to drop Silva from his squad for their FA Cup replay against Aston Villa. The two sides drew 0-0 in their previous encounter.

With all to play for in the replay, the manager opted to drop the defender for the game, explaining that it had to do with his performances of late.

Poch provided the explanation after a journalist questioned whether it had anything to do with the player’s wife’s comments about the club.

Belle Silva apologises to Chelsea

Meanwhile, following her outburst on social media and before the FA Cup game, Silva did apologise for her comments.

As reported by the BBC, she explained that she just wanted a winning team.

"I'm sorry that my personal outburst as a passionate Chelsea fan has caused such an impact. I'm passionate about the team, I thrive on victories, and I'm saddened by defeats," she said.

Pochettino addresses Belle Silva's tweet

Chelsea boss, Pochettino has addressed Silva's viral tweet for the first time, Sports Brief previously reported.

Thiago Silva's wife, Belle, caused quite a stir when she called for change at the club after the defeat to Wolves.

The Blues were beaten 4-2 in the game, suffering the second defeat in a row where they conceded four goals.
