According to Sky Sports, the teenage sensation made his first debut in January 2023 under the Dutchman.

The 18-year-old midfielder has gone from strength to strength since then, with his stunning display in the middle of the park earning him praise from fans and pundits.

His most recent outing with United saw him score the winner at stoppage time against Wolves as the Red Devils salvaged a 4-3 victory on the road.

The tie looked set to end in a draw after Wolves ace Pedro Neto scored in the 95th minute, only for Mainoo to score the winner two minutes later.

Man United to reward Mainoo

According to reports, plans are now underway to have Mainoo rewarded with a new bumper deal.

SPORTbible claims that the youngster and his representatives will negotiate new terms with United at the end of the ongoing season.

The move is aimed at having the fast-rising midfield star commit his future to the club.

The development comes just days after Ramsus Hojlund spoke highly of him, describing the academy graduate as 'generational talent.'

"We have a generational talent in Kobbie Mainoo," he said.

"You can see his composure, he is so relaxed on the ball. Now he's also starting to show that he has the scoring part of his game as well. He's a complete player," he added.
