“The committee found you [Jumaan] guilty of violating Article 13 by engaging in strike/picketing, leading to your absence from training for over five days without valid reasons or permissions," read part of a letter signed by the club's Chief Executive Officer, Jimmy Ambajo, as reported on Pulse Sports.
Sofapaka have imposed a fine of Ksh400,000 on Jumaan, which must be paid within the next seven days. Additionally, he is required to commence community service immediately, as directed by the Team Manager.
The letter also stressed the player's failure to communicate with club officials regarding his absence. He is said to have also failed to communicate of any financial assistance needed.
This is seen as an indirect act of sabotage and a breach of his contract.
It follows the recent appointment of Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno as the new head coach, as reported by People Daily.
The arrival of the former Gor Mahia coach prompted a reshuffle in the coaching staff, with Ezekiel Akwana now assuming the role of assistant coach.
Sofapaka are 14th in the FKF Premier League table with 20 points from 19 games.
Despite some stability under Akwana, the team has struggled to climb out of the relegation zone, losing 11 games, one less than bottom-placed Nzoia Sugar.
