Nigerian veteran forward Daniel Amokachi reiterated the importance of education in football during a recent CAF-organised event in Ivory Coast.
The former Everton forward is one of the African football legends presently in Abidjan for the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations.
The African football governing body and local schools hosted a 'Kick and Learn' event on Wednesday, January 31, with football legends raising awareness about the importance of education in the sport.
In the event that took place at the Lycee Classique de Cocody, Abidjan, Amokachi had an exclusive chat with Sports Brief, sharing his views on the topic.

"We know how important it is to combine football and education; I always tell people, whatever you I tell them is a testimony because it is not a hearsay that I heard it somewhere else," he said.
"I kicked my last professional football at the age of 27, and if I didn't get that little background when it comes to education, I probably would stumble.
"A lot of our legends are struggling to get involved in the system, but when you have that little education background, it helps; I am working with FIFA and CAF [evaluating games], also in the broadcasting industry.
"It's not just playing football, but if you put yourself in the educational aspect of it and learn how to talk, you can still have life after the beautiful game."
