"We did an excellent analysis of Morocco. It is not the first time we played against them, and we know that their team do not change so much," he said.
"They have good players, so we knew how we should play. Again, I think this was the right tactic. That team is really good."
The former Cameroon national team coach also spoke on how the narrative would have changed if Morocco had scored most of the chances they created in the game.
"The coach who wins the game always has the best tactic; it is always like that," the Belgian coach added.
"If Morocco had scored with the chances they had, then lost the game, then you ask me, 'Coach, why are you playing like that?'."
Bafana Bafana will face the Blues Sharks of Cape Verde in the quarter-finals, and the winner in the tie will face either Nigeria or Angola in the semi-final.
