While the Italian is seen as a transfer expert, he also has excellent knowledge of the game and players and knows what makes a star.

The football journalist put his skills to the test when he was recently asked to build his perfect footballer. Romano was asked to choose a player for the right foot, left foot, physicality, speed, skills, and intelligence.

Romano opts for South American talent for feet

Proving that he still highly rates the game's legends, the Italian chose Pele for the right foot.

Romano chose another South American legend, Diego Maradona when choosing whose left foot he would want in his perfect footballer.

Romano chooses another Brazilian legend for speed

Romano surprised many when he opted to go for Manuel Francisco dos Santos when going for speed.

Popularly known as Garrincha, the Brazilian is considered one of the best dribblers of all time. Garrincha and Pele were a huge part of Brazil’s dominance in the 50s and 60s.

The Seleção never lost a game in which Garrincha and Pele were in the same lineup.

Romano goes with Messi for skills

No ultimate footballer would be complete without either Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo in the setup.

The duo are often considered among the greatest of all time, and the debate over the better player rages on. While the Italian didn’t necessarily weigh in on the GOAT debate, he did opt to include Messi in his squad when it comes to skills.

Kaka excluded Ronaldo from his ultimate footballer

Like Romano, Ricardo Kaka also opted to leave out Cristiano Ronaldo when building his ultimate footballer, Sports Brief reported.

The former Real Madrid superstar played alongside Ronaldo at the Spanish club, but didn't rate him good enough to choose him.

Kaka did make space for the Portuguese superstar's main rival, Lionel Messi when asked whose skills he would opt for.
