Fans saddened by Klopp's impending departure

The news of Klopp's impending exit sent shockwaves across the football world, most especially to the millions of Liverpool supporters.

Apart from the realisation that they will never get to see Klopp roam the sidelines at Anfield after this season, fans also got to grips with the fact that they will never see the German manager work his magic in the Champions League again as Liverpool boss.

The Reds didn't qualify for the Champions League this season after finishing fifth in the Premier League last campaign.

Liverpool's last Champions League goal under Klopp

A post by @LFCTransferRoom on the social media platform X went viral as he remembered the last Champions League goal that Liverpool scored under Klopp.

Apparently, it was Salah who scored the last Champions League goal for Liverpool under Klopp. That came in the first leg of their round of 16 tie with Real Madrid in the 2022-23 season.

Salah sent Liverpool fans into a frenzy when he gave the Reds a 2-0 lead in the 14th minute with a strike from close range, per ESPN.

Their joy was short-lived, though, as the Spanish giants staged a stunning comeback at Anfield. They scored five unanswered goals to bring a 5-2 lead to the Santiago Bernabeu for the second leg.

Liverpool lost that contest 1-0 as they suffered a 6-2 defeat on aggregate.

Klopp's trophies with Liverpool

Sports Brief recently reported on the trophies Klopp won with the Reds.

Apart from the Champions League title, Liverpool won the Premier League, FA Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, EFL Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and the Community Shield under Klopp's watch.

The Reds can add more to that list as they hold the lead in the Premier League this season.
