FootballThomas Partey: Fans say the same thing as midfielder returns to Arsenal training
- Thomas Partey is back to full training in a boost for Arsenal
- The Ghana international has been out since October with a thigh issue
- He could make a return to the squad against Nottingham Forest
Football fans have come up with interesting theories after Thomas Partey returned to full training, barely a day after his nation was knocked out of the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Gunners were handed a major fitness boost by their star midfielder, who has been out for more than three months after injuring his thigh during a shooting drill.
The 30-year-old subsequently missed Arsenal’s last 12 Premier League games in a run that has seen the Gunners slip up in the title race.
His injury also kept him out of the Africa Cup of Nations, as Ghana had to make adjustments in midfielder to accommodate his absence.
The Black Stars ultimately failed to get out of the group stages, with a defeat and two draws insufficient to see them through.
Fans react to Partey’s recovery
On social media, sections of fans were irked by the timing of Partey’s recovery.
According to Football London, the Ghana international’s recovery has been immense, and could make the match day squad when the Gunners take on Nottingham Forest in their next Premier League game.
The fueled speculation that Partey snubbed international duty to prioritise his career at Arsenal.
