Williams, starting on the bench, left a significant mark upon entering the game in the second half as a substitute for Malcom Adu Ares in the 59th minute.

The 29-year-old's notable contributions comprised a goal in the 105th minute of extra time and an assist to his younger brother, Nico Williams, to secure victory for Athletic Bilbao, per Ghanaweb.

Gorka Guruzeta and Oihan Sancet also contributed goals for Athletic Club, while Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal scored consolation goals for Barcelona.

According to Super Sport, Inaki has amassed a total of 10 goals in various competitions this season.

Inaki Williams lands in Spain

As Sports Brief also reported, 29-year-old Williams returned to Spain on Wednesday morning in preparation for his team's Copa del Rey clash against FC Barcelona.

A member of Ghana's 27-man squad at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, he came back to Bilbao following his country's dismal elimination in the group stage on Monday.

Williams played in all three Group B matches for the Black Stars, including the last game where Ghana squandered a two-goal lead to draw against Mozambique.

Inaki Williams reveals AFCON dreams

As Sports Brief previously reported, before the start of the ongoing biennial tournament in Ivory Coast, Williams revealed his AFCON 2023 aspirations.

The La Liga striker shared his dream of aiding the Black Stars in ending their 42-year title drought, while also aspiring to bring pride to his family back home.

However, Williams' hopes for success in the month-long continental competition were ultimately shattered as Ghana exited the tournament in the first round.
