Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns veteran, Themba Zwane has named the favourite coaches he has played under.
The 34-year-old included Mamelodi Sundowns legend, Pitso Mosimane and briefly explained what makes the 59-year-old great.
On Sunday evening, Zwane scored twice in South Africa's 4-0 win over Namibia in the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations at the Le Stade Amadou Gon Coulibaly.
He joined the Brazilians in 2011 as a 21-year-old from Vardos FC and has been in the club's books since then.
Listing the top coaches he has worked with, Zwane named Johan Neeskens, Mosimane, and current Sundowns coach, Rulani Mokwena.
"[Mosimane] - he’s the type of coach that will push you. He will make sure that you watch your games, check your mistakes and try to improve them," he said per Far Post.
Zwane told a brief story of how Mosimane would cheer him up before a game, and it worked like a charm.
"I remember we were playing the last league match against Polokwane City FC, we were supposed to at least win by five goals because Kaizer Chiefs was in action [against Baroka]. He came to me and said, ‘You’re a big player, do something, do something’. Then I had pressure to deliver; we won the game 3-0."
He has made 391 appearances for Sundowns, scored 79 goals, and provided 56 assists, per Transfermarkt. Bafana Bafana will need him to step up in their final Group E clash against Tunisia.
