Saudi Arabian league minnows, Abha Club are reportedly set to announce South African tactician, Pitso Mosimane as their new head coach.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns tactician was said to have taken a flight out of South Africa this week to conclude the deal with the SPL side.

Mosimane was one of SuperSport's analysts of the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, but he has not been seen in the last couple of days.

Abha Club are languishing in 17th position on the Saudi Pro League log and are desperate for a miracle to avoid relegation from the top division.

Romanian coach, George Timis has been under heavy criticism as caretaker after the club sacked Tunisian, Yousef Al Mannai earlier this season.

The team's last victory dates back to November, having lost seven of their last eight games in all competitions.

Mosimane could be in charge of his first game when Abha Club takes on Al-Taawoun in the SPL on February 15, according to iDiski Times.

He will hope to have Cameroon's Karl Toko-Ekambi and Dévis Rogers Epassy, along with Guinea's Francois Kamano, back in the mix after AFCON.

Meanwhile, Premier Soccer League giants, Kaizer Chiefs have addressed the reports that Mosimane turned down a move to the club.

The South African tactician's next club is yet to be determined since leaving United Arab Emirates side, Al Wahda in November 2023.

Kaizer Chiefs sporting director, Kaizer Motaung Jr. took to his official handle on X (formerly Twitter), to react to the current rumours.

Al Wahda star hails Mosimane

Sports Brief also previously reported on Al Wahda star, Lucas Pimenta showered praise on Mosimane despite the South African leaving the club.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns boss left the United Arab Emirates in November and has since been linked with clubs in Africa and around the world.

Mosimane left Al Wahda and the UAE Pro League after only 10 games in charge due to a string of poor performances, and it seems he will be missed.
