It has emerged that it was Manchester United who chartered the private jet that took Andre Onana for Africa Cup of Nations duty in Ivory Coast.
Onana turned up late for the tournament after he made a brave decision to play for United in their game against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, January 14.
It is understood that the Cameroonian decided after consulting with his national team's coaches.
According to Daily Star, Onana jetted off to the Ivory Coast later that night, hoping to make it in time for Cameroon's opener against Guinea.
However, unforeseen circumstances saw Onana fail to make it for the tie, with his cousin starting in goal for the Indomitable Lions.
How much Man United paid for Onana's plane
The Athletic reports that Onana's chartered plane did not come cheap, with Man United said to have forked out a minimum of $100,000 for the flight.
According to the publication, the plane was hired from Visajet, who charge between $12,000 and $20,000 per hour spent in the air for a private charter.
Meanwhile, despite missing the group opener against Guinea, Onana did feature i. Cameroon's second fixture is against reigning champions Senegal.
The Rigobert Song-tutored side lost 3-1 in the clash, with Sadio Mane among Senegal's goalscorers.
Cameroon needs a win in their final game against the Gambia to stand any chance of qualifying for the next round.
