In a highly anticipated clash between two of the league's top-performing teams, Gor Mahia beat Tusker Football Club 1-0 at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday, January 20, 2024.

The win saw the perennial Kenyan champions move 10 points clear at the summit of the FKF Premier League standings.

The decisive moment came in the first half when K'Ogalo's Austin Odhiambo expertly executed a setpiece, curling the ball beyond the wall and leaving Brewers' goalkeeper Brian Bwire helpless.

With this win, Johnathan McKinstry's men boast 43 points, extending their lead to 10 points over Nairobi City Stars.

Tusker remain in third place with 31 points, trailing the leaders by 12 points, as reported by Capital Sports.

Meanwhile, in other FKF Premier League fixtures, Bandari and Kariobangi Sharks settled for a 2-2 draw at Mbaraki Sports Club. Shabana faced a 0-1 defeat against Ulinzi Stars at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay, and KCB and Muhoroni Youth played to a goalless draw.

Bandari secured their goals through Umar Kasumba and Nahimana Shassiri, while Sharks found the net with goals from Patrick Ngunyi and Isaac Wasambo.

Despite a missed opportunity by Umar Kasumba early in the game, Bandari equalized just before halftime, thanks to Kasumba's connection with Captain Andrew Juma's header from a curled corner kick by William Wadri.

The second half saw changes for the Dockers, with Mohammed Barisa and Shassiri Nahimana being introduced. In the 75th minute, Nahimana Shassiri capitalized on a loose ball in the 18-yard box, firing a low shot that beat Sharks goalkeeper Sepstianos Wekesa, giving Bandari the lead.

Isaac Wasambo levelled the scores eight minutes before the end of the match after a skilful play by Captain Biron Otieno, as reported by Citizen Digital.

In other pictures, Shabana lost 1-0 to Ulinzi Stars at the Raila Odinga Stadium, while Muhoroni Youth and KCB played out to a barren draw.
