Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus hogged the headlines at the Africa Cup of Nations after netting a brace against Egypt on his debut.
Having missed the opening game due to an injury, the West Ham United star stole the show in the biggest game of Group B with his Man of the Match performance.
His dazzling display has seen him being mentioned in the Ballon d'Or argument, with one of his former coaches Jeremy Seethal predicting a podium finish for the 23-year-old.
Seethal nurtured Kudus at the Right to Dream Academy and believes the talented attacker is a Ballon d'Or hopeful.
“Give it two years, Kudus will be the best African player. I’m confident one day he will win the Ballon d’Or," Seethal told The Athletic.
“Everyone has seen his growth. Now he’s shining at the highest level. He’s a superstar.”
Kudus has already netted ten goals across all competitions for West Ham United after joining the club from Ajax Amsterdam in the summer transfer window, per Transfermarkt.
The former FC Nordsjaelland midfielder is already attracting interest from top clubs following his electric start to life in London.
