The Senegalese Football Federation have calmed fears amid reports of coach Aliou Cisse's health.
The 47-year-old was rushed to the hospital on Friday after Senegal's victory over Cameroon at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Cisse was hospitalized and stayed at the Saint Joseph Moscati Catholic Hospital in Yamoussoukro overnight due to the sudden illness.
According to the latest information from the Senegalese Football Federation, the gaffer has been released from the medical centre and will join the team this week as preparations continue for the game against Guinea.
“The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) informs the public that coach Aliou Cisse was taken care of by the medical staff and care services of Yamoussoukro hospital for a benign infectious pathology on Friday, January 19, 2024, in the evening, after the Senegal-Cameroon match. The exams are reassuring and he is back with his group,” the statement read.
The former Senegal captain led the Teranga Lions to their first-ever AFCON title in 2021 and looks forward to defending the title in Cote d'Ivoire.
The defending champions have progressed to the last 16 of the tournament following the victory over the Indomitable Lions.
Senegal could confirm their place at the top of Group A with just a draw against the Syli National on Tuesday, per Sky Sports.
Aliou Cisse rushed to hospital
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Senegal coach Aliou Cisse was rushed to the hospital following the victory over Cameroon in the second Group C game at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Teranga Lions coach suffered an illness and was taken to the Saint Joseph Moscati Catholic Hospital in Yamoussoukro.
The former Senegal captain received treatment and had to stay overnight due to his condition.

FootballSports Brief also reported that Al-Nassr forward Sadio Mane scored late as Senegal strolled to victory in their second group game against Cameroon in Yamoussoukro.
The 31-year-old finished off a brilliant move from the Teranga Lions to restore Senegal's two-goal advantage in the 90th minute.
The freshly-married forward and his Senegal teammates celebrated at the end of the game as the African champions advanced to the knockout stage with a match to spare.
