According to Wiw Sport, the coach fell ill moments after the post-match presser and was quickly rushed to the closest medical centre.

Cisse is expected to rejoin the team on Saturday as preparations begin for the final round of games at the Nations Cup.

Having led Senegal to AFCON success in 2021, the former Birmingham City defender is hoping to defend the title in Cote d'Ivoire.

The victory over five-time champions Cameroon sees the Teranga Lions progress to the knockout stage of the competition with a game to spare.

Senegal will face the Syli National of Guinea on Tuesday as they look to finish top of Group B, per Sky Sports.

Mane scores as Senegal beat Cameroon

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Al-Nassr forward Sadio Mane put the icing on the cake as Senegal strolled to victory in their second group game against Cameroon in Yamoussoukro.

The 31-year-old finished off a brilliant move from the Teranga Lions to restore Senegal's two-goal advantage in the 90th minute.

The freshly married forward and his Senegal teammates celebrated at the end of the game as the African champions advanced to the knockout stage with a match to spare.

Senegal reach AFCON last 16

Sports Brief also reported that Defending champions Senegal became the second qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 as Ismaila Sarr, Habib Diallo and Sadio Mane scored in a 3-1 win over Cameroon on Friday.

A few hours earlier, Cape Verde were the first country to secure a last-16 place by hammering Mozambique 3-0 in Abidjan.

Sarr netted in the first half and Diallo and Mane in the second in Yamoussoukro to give the title-holders a maximum six points after two Group C matches. The losers have only one.
