  • The Al Nassr forward was on target in Senegal's 3-1 win over Cameroon on Friday

Al Nassr winger Sadio Mane has set a new record with his goal in Senegal's win over Cameroon at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

The Teranga Lions made it two wins out of the same number of games at the tournament as they defeated 2017 African champions 3-1 at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium, Yamoussoukro.

Former Watford forward Ismaila Sarr scored the game's first goal after his shot from outside the box was deflected in by Napoli midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa.

The Olympique Marseille winger became the provider for the match's second goal as he set up Habib Diallo with a cross into the box.

The Indomitable Lions fought back as Jean Castello made the scoreline 2-1 with seven minutes left to play.

Mane ensured the defending champions sealed all three points and booked a place in the next round as he scored a late goal to cap off a good performance.

The former Liverpool forward's goal set a new record as the first Senegal player to score in four different African Cups of Nations, according to Opta Jean.

The 31-year-old has now scored in the 2017, 2019, 2021, and 2023 editions of the prestigious Africa football competition.

Senegal's next outing in the competition would be a dead rubber match against National Elephants of Guinea at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium, Yamoussoukro, on Tuesday, January 23, according to a report by Soccerway.

AFCON 2023: Mane warns teams about Mali

Sports Brief also reported that Former Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mane believes Mali could be the team to beat at the ongoing 2023 AFCON.

The Al-Nassr star provided an assist in Senegal's win in their AFCON 2023 opener against Gambia.

Mali are not rated as one of the favourites at the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, but Mane feels they might cause problems for other teams.
