New reports have now claimed that when he returns from injury, it will be as a free agent.

A sports journalist in the country earlier claimed that the former Paris Saint-Germain player had his contract terminated by the Saudi club and was, therefore, officially a free agent.

MSN to reunite at Inter Miami?

That led many to speculate where he could end up next, with some suggesting he reunite with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at Inter Miami in America.

The trio played together at Barcelona and were known as MSN, posing many problems for defenders in Spain, and fans are eager to see the same thing happen in the MLS.

Fabrizio Romano clarifies claims about Neymar

However, after the news broke about Neymar, renowned football journalist, Fabrizio Romano took to social media to provide clarity on the situation.

Romano explained the winger's contract wasn’t terminated, but his name was removed from their registered squad due to his injury. Neymar is contracted to the side until June 30, 2025.

Saudi clubs are only allowed eight foreign players throughout the season, and with Neymar being out for the rest of the season, Al-Hilal have reportedly just made space for another foreign star.

In related news, Al-Hilal manager, Jorge Jesus recently aimed a jibe at Neymar while praising Al-Nassr captain, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Jesus was discussing what set the two players apart when he claimed Ronaldo had more passion for football compared to Ney.

The Portuguese superstar is known for his work ethic and his ability to perform at the highest levels, as Sports Brief has also reported.
