With club football in South Africa on a break due to the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Rulani Mokwena is making good use of his time.

The Mamelodi Sundowns coach is currently on an educational trip to Brazil, where he's already visited the country's top clubs, Botafogo and Copa Libertadores champions Fluminense.

Masandawana boss seems to be enjoying his time off and what's better than spending it in Brazil? Mokwena has so far visited top flight league sides Botafogo and reigning Copa Libertadores champions Fluminense.

He is apparently an admirer of Fluminense boss Fernando Diniz. His trip will likely help him tactically and spiritually since Brazil are one of the biggest football countries in the world.

"Today’s visit is why I came to Brazil in the first place. Home of Relationism The talent is really scary. Thank you Flumiense," he wrote on X.

Mokwena's Mamelodi Sundowns are arguably the best team in Africa and comfortably sit on top of the PSL table.

Mokwena names 2023 AFCON favourites

Sports Brief earlier reported on Mokwena listing his favourites to win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

He boldly backed South Africa and Namibia to play each other in the final. Namibia have registered the biggest upset in the tournament so far, while Bafana Bafana were beaten 2-0 in their first game.

Mokwena also mentioned the likes of Morocco, Egypt, Ghana, Senegal, hosts Ivory Coast and Nigeria as favourites to win it. Morocco and defending champions Senegal are overwhelming favourites to win the tournament.

Mokwena compares Sundowns to two EPL giants

Sports Brief earlier reported on Mokwena comparing his team Mamelodi Sundowns, to two English Premier League giants after their victory over Pyramids FC in the CAF Champions League.

Mokwena compared his team to Arsenal and treble winners Manchester City after their win.

Mokwena's side have always employed an expansive style of football, which has drawn admirers across the continent.
