FootballSergino Dest: Barcelona Star Refuses to Return to the Club Until Xavi Is Gone
- Xavi has reportedly lost the Barca dressing room following the club's disastrous run
- Reports claim a section of the squad are questioning the legend's tactical decisions
- Barca sit fourth in the La Liga standings with 41 points, eight points behind Girona
Barcelona defender Sergino Dest has ruled out the possibility of him returning to the club while Xavi is still in charge.
Dest is currently on loan at Dutch side PSV, a club he joined in the summer after finding his game time limited under Xavi.
He has gone on to play a pivotal part in PSV's title charge, with the side currently 12 points clear at the top of the Eredivisie.
However, back at Barcelona, Xavi is not finding it rosy, with the Spanish legend in danger of getting the sack.
According to Goal, citing ESPN, the Barca boss has lost a section of the dressing room, with some players said to be questioning his tactics and decision-making.
This comes at a time Barcelona have had a difficult start to the campaign as they currently sit fourth in La Liga, eight points behind leaders Girona.
Dest wants Xavi out
Dest has now come out to disclose that he will only return to the Catalan club when Xavi is gone.
According to the right-back, while he is still keen to play at the highest level, he does not see himself doing that at Camp Nou with Xavi still in charge.
"In the long term, I would like to return to the level where I came from. But a season like this, I just have to enjoy it," he told VI.
"Only if the situation changes there. Xavi is still there now. So at the moment no, that will be too difficult," he added.
