According to Sky Sports, Vinicius Jr was the man of the moment during the tie, with the Brazilian ace scoring a hat-trick to inspire Real to a comfortable win.

Vini needed just seven minutes to score the opening goal before doubling the advantage in the 10th minute.

Barca pulled one back via Robert Lewandowski in the 33rd minute, only for Vini to restore Real's two-goal advantage from the penalty spot six minutes later.

Rodrygo took the game beyond the Catalan giants in the 64th minute, with things going from bad to worse for Xavi's men after Ronald Araujo was handed his marching orders seven minutes later.

Xavi sends fans an apology

Xavi has now apologised to Barcelona fans in the wake of the humiliating defeat, with the Spaniard describing his side's performance as 'awful.'

"We can’t come into a final like this. We’ve been awful in defence and in the high pressing," the Barca boss said via Goal.
"Not just as a Barca manager, but as a Barca fan I am very sad. That’s all I can say. Apologies to our fans but we’ll bounce back," he added.

Barca will be looking to put the Sunday misery behind them when they take on Unionistas on Thursday, January 18, in the Round of 16 of the Copa del Rey.

Rudiger pinches Modric's chest

Sports Brief has also reported that Rudiger was spotted pinching Luka Modric in the chest during the Spanish Cup celebrations.

The 30-year-old centre-back did the same thing to Alvaro Morata during the semifinals against Atletico Madrid on January 10.

Unlike the veteran midfielder, Morata wasn't amused by Rudiger's antics and tried to get the referee to intervene.
