- The Black Stars face a must-win game against Egypt on Thursday
Ghana could have star player Mohammed Kudus available for selection for their crunch match against Egypt on Thursday, January 18, as the West Ham forward is presently back to full training.
The 23-year-old winger missed the Black Star’s surprising loss to Cape Verde in their opening Group B game of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after arriving at the team’s camp in Ivory Coast with a knock.
According to KingFut, The Ghana Football Association's Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum, has confirmed that Kudus has already joined the full-team training session, and there is general hope that he will be fit for the Egypt game.
“Luckily, today [Monday] he trained with the rest of the squad. He stayed in the group training for the whole period. The medical team is still assessing him.
“He is back in full team training, and I am sure by Wednesday or Thursday, he will be fine for that match.”
Ghana, who have gone 42 years without winning the AFCON, must avoid defeat against the Pharaohs led by Mohammed Salah to keep their hopes of qualifying to the knock-out stage alive.
Egypt vs Ghana AFCON prediction
Meanwhile, pundits have reckoned Egypt should come out as winners when the Pharaohs clash against the Black Stars in their second group game at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Sportskeeda reports.
Ghana have endured a poor run of form recently, with just one win in their last six games across all competitions and they have also suffered three defeats and failed to score in four games in that period.

Dressed in spotless all-white kaftans, the 27 players and coaching staff added a pop of colour with expertly woven and bright Kente cloth draped over their attire, creating a blend of tradition and sophistication.
