A handful of fans had to be stopped by security after invading the pitch following the final whistle of the game between Cameroon and Guinea.

The Group C game, which ended in a 1-1 stalemate, encountered a moment of chaos in Yamoussoukro.

However, security were at hand to deal with the situation as they made sure no fan got close to the players, who were leaving the pitch at the end of the match.

In a video shared on social media, a couple of fans were spotted breaking away from the stands as they entered the stadium, trying to reach some of the players.

Meanwhile, in a pulsating encounter, the Syli National opened the scoring through Mohamed Bayo, who slotted home after Cameroon failed to clear their lines.

Guinea were reduced to ten men just before the break after forward Francois Kamano was sent off.

The Indomitable Lions took advantage of the red card as they levelled moments after the break through Frank Magri's header.

The five-time champions will next face holders Senegal in the Group C headliner, per Al Jazeera.

Eto'o irritated as he watches Cameroon

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Cameroon legend Samuel Eto'o displayed frustrations as he watched the Indomitable Lions struggle to earn a point against ten-man Guinea in their Group C opener.

The Cameroonian Football Federation president was at the Stade de Yamoussoukro to support the five-time African champions.

However, despite playing most of the game with a man advantage, Cameroon had to come from a goal down to draw 1-1 in their first game of the tournament.

Onana arrives in Cote d'Ivoire for AFCON

Sports Brief also reported that Manchester United goalkeeper, Andre Onana has arrived in Cote d'Ivoire for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 27-year-old, however, missed the opening Group C game between the Indomitable Lions and the Syli National of Guinea.

In his absence, deputy goalkeeper Fabrice Ondoa started for the five-time African champions, who were held by ten-men Guinea in Yamoussoukro.
