Sammy 'Pamzo' Omolo, Shabana's newly appointed head coach, kicked off his tenure with an impressive 5-2 victory against Nzoia Sugar at the Sudi Stadium on Sunday, January 14, 2024.
Taking charge just four days ago, Pamzo filled the coaching vacuum left by Sammy Okoth's departure from the club in November 2023.
The match saw Nzoia Sugar take an early lead in the 20th minute through Emmanuel Osoro, but Shabana quickly responded through Justine Omwando, who levelled the score in the 22nd minute.
Omwando later gave Shabana the lead with his second goal a few minutes before half-time.
Although Nzoia managed to equalize in the 59th minute with Salim Murunga's penalty, Omwando secured his hat-trick and Shabana's victory with another spot-kick in the 71st minute.
Debutant Mathew Tegisi, playing his first game in Tore Bobe colours after joining from the National Super League outfit Gusii, sealed the win with a brace in the final phases of the game.
Shabana's triumph propelled them to the 16th spot with 17 points, tied with Sofapaka but holding a superior goal difference.
Sofapaka, who appointed a new coach, Zedekiah Zico Otieno, lost 3-1 to Tusker FC. Fabian Adikiny, Eric Kapaito, and David Odoyo scored for Tusker, while Keegan Ndemi netted a consolation goal for Sofapaka in the 73rd minute, as reported by Michezo Afrika.
The Brewers now occupy third position on the log with 31 points.

Chris Ochieng's injury-time goal secured the victory, extending Gor Mahia's unbeaten run to 18 games and putting them at the top of the league table with 40 points, as reported by the Nation.
