Sancho was named on the bench for Dortmund for their trip to face SV Darmstadt, despite not playing for more than five months.
Dortmund, who were heavy favourites going into the clash, took the lead through Julian Brandt in the 24th minute.
Sancho was introduced in the game in the 55th minute and made his presence felt 22 minutes later with a fine pass to Marco Reus, who made no mistake from a few yards out.
