  • Real Madrid beat Atletico to reach the Spanish Super Cup
  • Despite the win, goalie Kepa Arrizabalaga was responsible for schoolboy errors
  • This prompted the wife of Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin to respond on social media

Real Madrid star Andriy Lunin’s wife aimed an apparent dig at Kepa Arrizabalaga after the former Chelsea goalie’s error-filled performance in the Spanish Super Cup.

Carlo Ancelotti reinstated Kepa in the starting XI against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, as the Spaniard was given a chance to compete with Lunin.

Los Blancos went on to win the game 5-3, but the game could have gone much worse thanks to several clangers from Kepa.

One incident in particular stood out, as the former Chelsea goalkeeper mistimed a ball he wanted to catch, and it came off Antonio Rudiger and into the net.

Real Madrid fans are known for their high demands of the team, and Kepa’s error led to a string of vicious responses on social media.

Among those who posted immediately after Kepa’s error was Lunin’s wife, Anastacia.

As reported on TalkSport, she uploaded a photo of herself alongside her hubby along with the caption, “For sure, Number One”.

Realizing the potential controversy she had stirred, she deleted the post moments later, but hawk-eyed online users had already captured screenshots.

Kepa joined Real Madrid on loan from Chelsea last summer to cover for Thibaut Courtois, who suffered an anterior cruciate ligament rupture.

Despite making a promising start this season, starting 11 of the Spanish giants’ games, Kepa has fallen the pecking order spectacularly, with Lunin getting promoted to the first team.

The Ukranian, who was signed in 2018, has impressed between the sticks, and there are no signs of Kepa displacing him as the current number-one at Real Madrid if he continues with his stellar performances.
