The Black Stars of Ghana made an impressive fashion statement with their elegant kente attire upon their arrival in Ivory Coast.
Their chic and traditional outfits set the tone for a stylish entry as they aim to end their 42-year continental title drought at this year's edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The four-time African champions embarked on the short journey to neighbouring Ivory Coast on January 10, ready to compete in Group B against strong contenders like Egypt, seven-time African champions, alongside fellow West Africans Cape Verde and the Mambas of Mozambique, making their fifth appearance in the tournament.

FootballWith the competition drawing near, the remaining 23 participating teams gradually made their way to Ivory Coast, starting with the Atlas Lions of Morocco, who landed in Abidjan on Sunday, per CAFOnline.
The Black Stars, however, took the opportunity to showcase their cultural heritage and style on their arrival.
Dressed in immaculate all-white kaftans, the 27 players and coaching staff added a touch of vibrancy with carefully woven and colourful kente fabric draped over their attire, presenting a fusion of tradition and sophistication.
According to Locus Estates, the Kente cloth stands as a powerful emblem of Ghanaian culture, renowned worldwide for its exquisite beauty, elaborate designs, and profound cultural importance.
Its origins can be traced to the Ashanti kingdom, situated in contemporary Ghana, where it first emerged as a royal fabric reserved solely for the king and his esteemed court.

In a related publication, Sports Brief reported that Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Ofori, based in South Africa, made a notable entrance as the Black Stars landed in Abidjan for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Decked out in vibrant Kente garments, Ofori and his teammates showcased a colourful arrival. As they emerged from the airport terminal, local cultural dancers greeted them with a warm reception.
In a widely shared video on social media, the Orlando Pirates shot-stopper demonstrated his Adowa dancing skills, a traditional dance from the Ashanti Region in Ghana, echoing the local cultural welcome.
