The Black Stars of Ghana have left Accra for Cote D'Ivoire for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

In photos that have been circulating on social media, the players, coaches, and management team were spotted in homemade African prints.

The four-time African champions hope to end their 42-year wait for the title by winning the tournament in neighbouring Cote D'Ivoire.

Before leaving, the team met the President of the country, Nana Akufo-Addo, who charged them to give their best to ensure Ghana becomes champion once again, per the Ghana FA's official website.

The team was given a send-off party with Ghanaian Afro-dancehall superstar, Stonebwoy, entertaining the players with his hit tracks.

The Black Stars will be based in Abidjan for AFCON, where they will face seven-time champions Egypt, Cape Verde, and Mozambique.

Kudus joins Black Stars ahead of AFCON

Sports Brief previously reported that West Ham United midfielder, Mohammed Kudus has joined the Black Stars for the tournament.

The 23-year-old's AFCON preparations were delayed due to a knock he suffered during the Hammers' clash against Arsenal last month.

There were fears that Kudus might not be available for the Black Stars' AFCON opener against Cape Verde on Sunday due to that injury.

Senegal arrives in Ivory Coast for AFCON

Sports Brief also previously reported that Senegal arrived in Ivory Coast for AFCON in style ahead of the defence of their title.

Led by new husband and Al-Nassr star, Sadio Mane, the team reached Abidjan in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The AFCON title holders will immediately travel to Yamoussoukro, where they will be based for all of their Group C matches.
