Erling Haaland continues to be linked with a move away from Manchester City after reports emerged of his desire to move to Spain, where he owns a property.

Haaland joined City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022 and immediately impacted Pep Guardiola’s side, helping the team win a historic treble in his first season.

He also won the Premier League and UEFA Champions League Golden Boots, setting a new record for most goals in a single season in the English league with 36.

There had been reports that he has a ‘Real Madrid clause’ in his contract, which was denied by his team, but the rumours are back and it appears the speculation may be true.

Haaland 'wants Real Madrid move'

Per Spanish publication AS, the Norwegian striker is ready to switch to Madrid and could 'sign as early as tomorrow', demonstrating how much Haaland wants the move.

The report also claimed he has a two-tier release clause. He is reportedly available to Real Madrid for £86 million while Premier League rivals will pay around £170mil.

The rumours linking the Scandinavian to the Spanish capital giants have been fuelled by the fact that he owns a property in Marbella, Spain, which he bought in 2022.

Per Architectural Digest, he bought the $7.12mil mansion before he moved to the Premier League and was caught saying he would play in Spain during a holiday in 2021.

When he moved to England, Haaland reportedly eyed Paul Pogba’s mansion but was put off by the rent. Manchester United winger, Antony, currently occupies the house.

Haaland aimed dig at Manchester United

Sports Brief previously reported on Haaland aiming a dig at Man United over Jadon Sancho as the English winger nears a loan return to former club, Borussia Dortmund.
