Senegal's national football team boss, Aliou Cisse, has sent his message of approval and support to Sadio Mane after his star forward tied the knot this week.
Mane married Aisha Tamba, who is said to be his childhood sweetheart. The ceremony which has sent social media into a frenzy, coming just a few days before he leads Senegal's title defence at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Al-Nassr forward has always played his cards close to his chest, revealing little about his personal life. He had previously given his specifications on the type of girl he would marry when he eventually decided to settle down, as reported by Sports Brief.
"I've had many inquiries about why I am not married, but I believe the right woman for me won't be found on social media. I seek a partner who values God and prayer."
Aliou Cisse speaks on Sadio Mane's marriage
His national team boss has congratulated the former Liverpool striker, reiterating that family is important, perhaps even more than football.
"Marriage is an important moment. Football is our life. But there is family too," said the 47-year-old, as quoted by Al Nassr Zone.
Cisse further revealed that the whole team had been on Mane's back for a while, asking him when he would finally get married.
"The whole national team, including me, we always asked him: 'When are you going to get married?'"
The dreadlocked manager left the 31-year-old on the bench in their final warmup game against Niger on January 8, where they needed a late goal from Formose Mendy to win the match.

Mane rejoins Senegal's AFCON squad
Sports Brief previously reported that reigning African champions, Senegal have named their final squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Relying heavily on the players who helped the Teranga Lions claim the title in 2022, the team has called up both Mane and Kalidou Koulibaly.
Many fans have spoken favourably about the strength of the Senegal squad and they have been listed among the favourites for the title.
