The Super Eagles are proud of Victor Osimhen’s latest achievement and have celebrated him for being crowned as the 2023 CAF African Player of the Year.
The 25-year-old forward beat Egypt’s Mohamed Salah and Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi to the prestigious award after guiding Napoli to the Serie A title last season.
Osimhen, who arrived at the Super Eagles camp in Abu Dhabi ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, was celebrated by his national team teammates, who applauded his achievements.
The Napoli forward, expected to be among the top players to watch at AFCON 2023, was given a standing ovation for his achievements before charging the team to go all out to win the competition.
Osimhen, who finished the 2023 AFCON qualifiers as the highest goalscorer, is seen as Nigeria’s most reliable player ahead of the tournament, which will take place from January 13 to February 11 in Ivory Coast.

Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen has charged his Super Eagles teammates to go all out and win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after joining the team’s preparatory camp in Abu Dhabi, Score Nigeria reports.
The 2023 CAF Player of the Year told the team that they possess the quality to win a fourth AFCON title 10 years after Nigeria’s last conquest.
This will be Osimhen’s second AFCON after the Napoli striker’s debut in the 2019 competition in Egypt, where Nigeria finished third.
