Former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has disclosed his target in the Carling Cup Final tie between PSL All-Star and the Carling Knockout Cup winners Stellenbosch FC.
The match is scheduled for Saturday, January 6, at the Peter Mokaba stadium.
The Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper is still suspended from his club but was allowed to participate in the Carling Cup final.
In an interview ahead of the game, as per iDiskiTimes, Khune claimed he wanted to repay the fans for their faith in him and win the trophy on Saturday.
"It is every player's dream to win a cup. I think it is essential that we do not take this game for granted," he said.
"I think the fans have shown faith in us, and there are so many players in the country that they could have chosen or voted for, but they believed that the players they voted for will deliver the trophy and deliver happiness and put smiles on their faces."
Reports have it that the 36-year-old goalkeeper will captain the All-Star XI against the Carling Knockout champions.
Khune advised to 'retire'
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that a renowned agent, Mike Makaab, has urged Khune to 'retire' in order to give younger players a chance.
Makaab lauded the legendary goalkeeper but said the time was right for him to walk away and give the youngsters a chance.

FootballSports Brief previously reported that Itumeleng Khune reacted after making the Carling PSL All-Star XI despite being suspended by his club, Kaizer Chiefs.
The South African goalkeeper was initially suspended from playing for the Carling PSL All-Star XI against the Carling Knockout winners, Stellenbosch FC, in the Carling Cup by his club, but the fans voted him in instead.
Ahead of the Carling Cup game, Khune claimed that he is doing great despite the suspension and has been keeping fit, according to a report by FARPost.
