Manchester United have been given reasons why Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune will be the perfect option to temporarily replace Africa Cup of Nations-bound Andre Onana.
Onana is set to miss a couple of games for the Red Devils after being called up to the Cameroonian national team for the competition, from January 13 to February 11 in Ivory Coast.
According to Football Transfers, Onana could miss as many as four games for Man United depending on how far the Indomitable Lions progress in Africa’s biggest football competition.
While he is away, the Red Devils have been encouraged to sign legendary South African goalkeeper, Khune, with some fans believing the 36-year-old is be better than the Cameroonian.
Khune has been with AmaKhosi since 2004 and has had over 280 appearances for the PSL giants, but a move to Man United would be the biggest move of his career.
Khune opens up on suspension
Meanwhile, Khune addressed the media shortly after taking part in the Carling All-Stars team training session on Thursday morning following his suspension by Kaizer Chiefs, FARPost reports.
The 36-year-old goalie made it into the All-Stars team after being voted by the fans to be in the starting line-up, and he looks set to feature against Stellenbosch FC in the exhibition clash.
