Sergio Ramos displayed his trademark intensity, abruptly interrupting a post-match interview to confront an animated fan.

Despite the legendary defender's return to Sevilla, the LaLiga side finds itself mired in a relegation battle, struggling even after being known as Europa League specialists.

As they entered their first match of 2024, Sevilla carried the league's poorest form, a trend that continued with a 2-0 defeat to Athletic Bilbao on Thursday night.

This loss places them in 16th position on the table after 19 matches, just one point clear of the relegation zone.

Sevilla, having finished at the bottom of their Champions League group, has now suffered four defeats in their last five top-flight encounters.

What Sergio Ramos said after Sevilla defeat

Ramos, facing the media on the pitch side after the match, responded to a supporter's shout from the stands.

Cutting his post-match interview with DAZN, the Real Madrid legend initiated a bout of loud and passionate yelling via Football Espana:

“We're talking. Respect the people and the shield, what are we talking about?
"Show some respect and shut up now.”
Then in an instant Ramos gathered himself, saying to the reporter: "You have to put up with everything, but hey..."

Sevilla's poor form continues

Filling in as captain with Ivan Rakitic sidelined due to injury, Ramos played a pivotal role in the centre of a back three, per GOAL.

However, a series of errors marred their performance, leading to Athletic Bilbao's victory courtesy of goals from Aitor Paredes and Mikel Vesga.

Sevilla's upcoming challenge involves a Copa del Rey encounter against second-division side Racing de Ferrol. A potential unexpected exit from the cup would further compound the club's woes.

Ramos squares off with Rudiger

During a highly anticipated reunion with Real Madrid, a notable clash ensued between Ramos and Antonio Rudiger on the field, Sports Brief also reported.

The game between Los Blancos and Sevilla was a meeting between two intense competitors but the defender's hot-headed nature did not spark fireworks.

Despite being confronted by Ramos during the game, Rudiger opted for an unconventional response, meeting the aggression with an unexpected reaction.
