They have achieved this in 107 games, the most of any nation in the tournament, including 10 finals. Per Transfermarkt, Hassan El-Shazly is the country’s top scorer in the event with 12 goals.

Football2023 host country Ivory Coast is the second highest scoring nation in the tournament, with 143 goals scored in 99 games at 24 tournaments. They were victorious in 1992 and 2015. Laurent Pokou scored the most goals for the country at AFCON with 14.
Per Inside The Games, the Super Eagles of Nigeria are the most decorated team in AFCON history, with three gold, four silver and a record eight bronze, winning all third-place playoffs. They have scored 137 goals in 97 games. 13 of which were scored by the late Rashidi Yekini.
Five-time champions Cameroon is tied with Nigeria for the third-most goals scored at the tournament with 137 from 91 games, six less than the Super Eagles. The Indomitable Lions’ top scorer at the competition is Samuel Eto’o, who scored 18 goals - the highest of any player at the event.
