The Premier League title race is heating up.
Only six points separate the top five teams in the league table, with Liverpool currently holding a three-point lead.
However, the Reds' title bid will be tested, with Mohamed Salah set to join Egypt's squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Sports Brief looks at the Premier League stars who will miss some time because of the AFCON.
Premier League players in 2023 AFCON
AFC Bournemouth
Two Bournemouth players will participate in this year's Africa Cup of Nations. Forwards, Dango Ouattara will play for Burkina Faso, while Antoine Semenyo will suit up for Ghana, per the BBC.
Arsenal
The Gunners will have one of their players suiting up at the AFCON. Midfielder, Mohamed Elneny will play for seven-time champions, Egypt. Thomas Partey was named in Ghana's provisional squad but was not included in their final lineup due to injury.
Aston Villa
Aston Villa are in the thick of the title race, scoring 42 points from 20 matches. They will be one man down when the Africa Cup of Nations starts, with midfielder, Bertrand Traore set to represent Burkina Faso.
Brentford
Brentford find themselves in a bit of trouble as they are just four points above the relegation zone after Matchday 20. To make matters worse for the club, they will be missing two of their players soon due to the AFCON. Midfielder, Frank Onyeka was called up by Nigeria, while forward, Yoane Wissa was included in DR Congo's lineup.
Brighton
Forward, Simon Adingra was called up by Ivory Coast and will miss some of Brighton's Premier League games as a result.

Everton will be missing midfielder, Idrissa Gueye for some of their upcoming Premier League games after he was called up by Senegal for this year's AFCON.
Fulham
Three Fulham players will participate in this year's Africa Cup of Nations. Defender, Calvin Bassey and midfielder, Alex Iwobi will play for Nigeria while defender, Fode Ballo-Toure will suit up for Senegal.
Liverpool
Mohamed Salah is one of the main reasons Liverpool are top of the Premier League at the moment, scoring 14 goals in the English top flight this season.

Serge Aurier, Willy Boly, and Ibrahim Sangare will play for Ivory Coast, while Moussa Niakhate and Cheikhou Kouyate will suit up for Senegal. Defender, Ola Aina was also called up by Nigeria.

Two Sheffield United players will participate in this year's AFCON. Loan signing, Yasser Larouci will play for Algeria, while midfielder, Anis Ben Slimane will suit up for Tunisia.
Tottenham
Two Spurs stars will compete in this year's Africa Cup of Nations. Midfielder, Yves Bissouma will play for Mali, while midfielder, Pape Matar Sarr will see action for Senegal.
