A former Kaizer Chiefs star is reportedly close to making a return to the Premier Soccer League (PSL) after a short stint in Europe.
Cole Alexander had a year left on his contract with the club but the two parties agreed to go their separate ways in June last year.
The former SuperSport United star became a free agent after that decision and went on to join Swedish second-tier side, Helsingborgs IF, then coached by Stuart Baxter.
The South African player helped the club fend off relegation but Baxter's exit, after only eight months in charge of the club, saw Alexander follow him through the door.
According to iDiski Times, newly-promoted PSL sides, Polokwane City and Cape Town Spurs are reportedly interested in the signature of the veteran midfielder.
Polokwane are looking to bolster their squad while Spurs need the experience of Alexander to help them fight for survival in the South African top flight.
Alexander played 28 games for the Amakhosi and scored one goal. He also played for Indian club, Odisha FC, before joining Chiefs in the PSL, per Far Post.
