FootballJose Mourinho Blamed for Arsenal’s Dip in Form as Roma Boss’ Recent Comments Resurface
- Sections of fans believe Jose Mourinho is behind Arsenal’s poor run of form
- The Gunners slipped from 1st place to fourth in the space of a week
- Mourinho recently ruled out Arsenal as title contenders
Jose Mourinho has struck again, thanks to his recent viral comments.
Some football fans now believe Mourinho could be behind Arsenal’s spectacular dip in form that has seen them slip from first place to fourth in the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta’s side has picked up just one point from their last three league games, a run threatening to end their title ambitions.
Following their 1-1 draw against Liverpool, Arsenal succumbed to shock back-to-back defeats against West Ham and Fulham, teams that both hail from London.
As it stands, Arsenal are five points behind league leaders Liverpool, who continued their steady run in the league with a 4-2 win over Newcastle United.
Mourinho’s comments resurface
Interestingly, Arsenal’s dip in form comes just after Mourinho went viral for making controversial comments regarding the title race.
Whether it is a coincidence or not, we will never know, but Mourinho recently snubbed Arsenal when asked to comment on the Premier League title race.
Asked who he believed had what it takes to win the title, Mourinho said, as quoted on Marca:
"Man City 51 per cent, Liverpool 49 per cent."
He was then asked about Arsenal and simply replied, “Nah”.
That interview, which took place in a podcast hosted by former Chelsea player John Obi Mikel, went viral on December 18, when Arsenal were still high-flying in the league table.
Here are some reactions from fans:

FootballMourinho’s Premier League success
To be fair, Mourinho knows a thing or two about what it takes to win the Premier League.
During his three stints in the English top flight, Mourinho has won the Premier League thrice, with all three titles coming when he was Chelsea's boss.
He still boasts a unique Premier League record as his Chelsea side from 2005 conceded the least goals en route to their title triumph in the history of the Premier League, according to 101 Great Goals.
What next for Arsenal?
Meanwhile, Arsenal will briefly shift their attention to the FA Cup when they host Liverpool in the third round on Sunday, January 7. They will return to Premier League action on January 20 when they host Crystal Palace.
