  • Brazilian youngster Endrick will officially join Real Madrid in July 2024
  • He is in the Spanish capital after winning the Serie A with Palmeiras
  • Endrick has built his ultimate footballer and had a notable exclusion

It is rare to see a South American youngster not look up to or name an attribute he tries to copy in Lionel Messi, but Real Madrid youngster Endrick is an exception.

Madrid completed the signing of the highly-rated Brazilian youngster in December 2022 for a reported €60 million, but he will join the team in July 2024 when he turns 18.

In the meantime, he will remain with Palmeiras, with whom he has won back-to-back Campeonato Brasileiro Série A in 2022 and 2023. He is currently in Madrid after the end of the season.

He is another South American starlet the club has signed in the past, including Vinicius Jr, Rodrigo and Federico Valverde, all of whom are important first-team members.

Endrick snubs Messi in ultimate player

ESPN asked the 17-year-old to build his ultimate player using attributes from different players and can not repeat any player, and his answers raised eyebrows over an omission.

Most of his answers were Madrid-affiliated – Cristiano Ronaldo’s strength, Luka Modric’s intelligence, Jude Bellingham’s endurance, Vinicius Jr’s dribbling and Toni Kroos’s passing.

He picked himself as the shooter. Kylian Mbappe for speed and his Palmeiras manager Abel Ferreira’s mentality, but surprisingly excluded Messi.

The Argentina captain’s exclusion appears hinged on the fact that he plays for Madrid. Per La Opinion, James Rodriguez claimed he was forced under contract in Madrid to say Ronaldo was better than Messi despite thinking otherwise.

The 14-time Champions League winners are set to enter another transfer battle for Mbappe, whose contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in the summer.

Madrid fans bully Endrick to delete tweet

Sports Brief previously reported on Madrid fans bullying Endrick to delete Messi tweets during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, which Argentina won.

The Madrid-bound forward was amazed at Messi leaving Josko Gvardiol for dead during Argentina’s 3-0 win over Croatia, but after Los Blancos fans descended on him, he deleted the post.
